The Voting Information Project (VIP) values your privacy and does not require that users enter personally identifiable information or information about an individual that could reasonably be used to identify that individual. Examples of personal information that is not required include an individual’s first and last name, residential address, telephone number, and email address. In accessing VIP, a user enters only an address to obtain election information for that address, and is not prompted to enter any additional information.
The Voting Information Project fully supports the protection of individual privacy and neither collects nor stores personally identifiable information. VIP contains links to other sites and partnering organizations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites or organizations, and recommend you read their privacy policies for further information.
Additionally, VIP employs industry standard security measures to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information used by VIP. VIP has added “Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure” (HTTPS), a widely used communications protocol for secure communication over a computer network, with especially wide deployment on the Internet. It adds the security capabilities of SSL/TLS to standard HTTP communications.
